Styled Shoot - Lillibrooke Manor, Buckinghamshire

If you’re a bride (or just a wedding super fan) you've probably been following different wedding accounts on social media getting inspiration for your big day, and may have come across the term 'styled shoot'. But what this is all about?

A styled shoot is when various wedding suppliers come together to stage a wedding (or elements of!). The photo shoot is usually organised by one or two suppliers initially, and the other suppliers involved will be invited along based on the desired style and aesthetics of the shoot. The businesses should have similar styles and ideal customer, even ethos, in order to really complement each other and for the final product to be perfect.

There is a lot of work involved in these shoots, particularly for the organiser; pulling together mood boards, sourcing suppliers, pinning down the venue and models, producing timings, contact sheets etc, and potentially putting the shoot forward for publication. Not easy!

So why bother if it's such hard work? Well like most things that are hard work... it’s SO worth it! It's an amazing opportunity for suppliers to meet with other wedding industry pros, see venues up close and personal, show off their products/work, and get some amazing photography at the end of it for their socials and website. Plus - they're really good fun!!

Earlier this year we organised our very first styled shoot, and here's all the details and some of the final photos – which might give you some inspiration for your own wedding day!

Bride on her wedding day wearing Sassi Holford Iris

We knew we wanted the images to have variety, and for them to tell a story of the wedding day. The style of the day was very much modern romance, with a colour scheme of muted pink and neutral décor. The perfect backdrop for the shoot was Lillibrooke Manor, Buckinghamshire, a gorgeous venue with beautiful barns full of character and elegance, as well as the stunning stately Manor House. And our other suppliers involved in the shoot were amazing, we LOVED working with them all and cannot wait to do it again soon!

The dress featured for the first style was Sassi Holford Iris in Bow Belle Tulle, a unique dress that was perfect for the day. With the most gorgeous bouquet by Foxglove Studio, and the finishing touches by Fable & Fabled - the jewellery was just the right touch of sparkle and detail - the bride’s dress could do the talking! The groom looked just as impressive in The Cotswold Tailor suit, donning an olive textured suit with waistcoat. The distinctive look complemented the venue and bride effortlessly.

The bride looked stunning wearing Iris, the dress is one of beauty that everyone loved! With its ruched bodice and memorable plunging back, it has been designed to sculpt and flatter – and that it did! The adorned tulle belle sleeves and wistfully flowing skirt finished the romantic look seamlessly.

Bride on her wedding day wearing watters garance

Our second style of the day was for the bride’s evening look, and wow did she stun! Wearing Garance by Watters, a dress so very chic - everyone was blown away. Brides, if you’re looking for something unique – Garance is for you! The polished satin sheath drapes beautifully, with the exposed corsetry front and back, adorned with hand-beaded pearls. With an elegant chignon inspired hair style complementing this stylish wedding dress, the shots of the reception were picture-perfect – from the wedding breakfast to the champagne tower and finally, the first dance.

A beautiful day showing off our stunning dresses, as well as having some fun with other industry friends! Let us know in the comments which is your favourite look and what you love the most about the shoot!
